the sandcastles

one morning me and my cousin went to the beach because it was to hot because the sun was coming close to make earth warm and hot to not make the earth cool like ice. when we got ready to go to the beach we went in my uncles car to drive all the way to the beach.It was far away but when we got there it was a beautiful beach there because it was sunny and the sand was warm so we bought our sand castle toys to make a sandcastle in the sand.we had fun because we made sand castles to battle them and we broke them and did fun stuff with my cousin and we played and played waiting till it was time to go home to have dinner and go sleep. when we bust the sand castles down we build lot and lots of sand castles to bust them down and playing with then sand castles but we made all different type of sand castles we made big one small ones and fat ones and different types of sandcastles and we build fun sand castles and bust we build them and then bust it.they had A beautiful day but the cousin was tired so we went home and had dinner and went sleep.

Te Tahawai Mare

Te Tahawai Marae After we got off the bus at the at the Marae we walk half way until we got to the college. Then had to go in our positions.After that we walked into the Marae. We stopped for a few seconds and then started to walk to the steps and took off our shoes and walked in the Marae. After that we sat down. The boys sat in the front and the girls sat in the back.Joshua k said his speech and Joshua j said his too.Then we went to do the hongi.After that we went to go wash our hands and eat.We ate biscuits and drank water. After we went to make bags out of papers.The colours that we were aloud to use were red and white.Then brenda put handles on our bags and gave them to Mrs Cochrane.After that we started to sing and dance.Then we went to the old lady she told us about their ancestors and the people on the wall.There was a horse a jaguar and a ancestor.There were bird people and scary ancestors too.After she told us she gave us bookmarks to take to school.We got to touch the ancestors and draw the patterns on them.After that we had to go and hop on the bus to go to school.

Did you you know that the bright colours on the monarch butterfly are warning signs? It tells us it is poisonous. The monarch butterfly and other butterflies used to live in Australia and the countries in the Pacific. But they get blown to New Zealand. Butterflies can’t survive here because our winters are too cold.The blue moon butterfly have white patches and big wings.  It is because when a bug tries to eat the blue moon it hides and pretends  to be a big bug. Butterflies are trans Tasman travellers.
